A Window on Italy

Buongiorno!!!! We are home. Exhausted but home. I could fill volumes but instead, I will let the pictures tell the story.

And some smocking too! Saw this sweet dress in a shop window in Venice. Sadly I didn't see any anywhere else. I may have to copy this precious little dress.

Hopefully tonight my body clock will realize I am stateside. Until tomorrow faithful reader.

  2. Welcome home, Martha! A few of those photos remind me of an episode of "Raymond" in which the crazy family spent a vacation in Italy! Did you have an audience with the Pope?

  3. What wonderful photos! My mom and I went way back in '89 and seeing your photos brings back so many memories. I hope you caption some of them when you get readjusted to your time zone.

  5. Fabulous photos, Martha! You just went on my favorite vacation that we took back in the 2006's...didn't own a digital camera then :*(

I remember making wishes & tossing coins in the Fountain of Tivoli, marveling at the Pietà, (so glad that idiot didn't destroy it completely), the beautiful Amalfi coastline and the spectacular St. Peter's Basilica! I know you had the time of your life seeing the Pope. My husband still talks about it.

Hopefully, you can get some sleep & turned around to tell us all about it.
    ♥ ♥ ♥ that you saw a smocked dress in the window...how appropriate! :D

  6. So glad you're back Martha! Looks like you had a wonderful time and great weather. The last time we were there was about 10 years ago and your pictures made me wish I was there again! LOVE that dress too and YES, you should copy that!! I am curious too, like Bunny what a dress like that would cost there!

  7. Oh I think that dress is an easy copy... I bet yours will look better. Hope you get that internal clock working. I have missed knowing your face was in the US. Rac and I were discussing your arrival/departure the other day as we were missing us some Martha.
