Hello From Babyville

No I haven't dropped off the face of the earth, these two beautiful girls have been taking up my days. I have been busy kissing cheeks, running errands, kissing cheeks, making meals, kissing cheeks, running a vacuum, kissing cheeks, kissing cheeks and when I had a spare moment, kissing cheeks. I think you get the drift.

While they were still in the hospital I took my stitching along every day. I don't know who I was fooling. Never took it out of the bag. There were baby squeeks to hear, faces to gaze at and general awe and wonder to behold. Who had time to stitch?

You know what is wonderful? We love to wash and iron a newly finished garment or project. Hang it up to admire or take pictures. It is a great feeling. You know what is better? Washing and ironing it because it has been worn! That is a great feeling!

I am working on a couple of small projects when I have a minute or two. I'll be back soon. I'll leave you with this. Pretty much sums it up.

  1. How very, very beautiful..... baby, mother and dresses. And how wonderful are you doing all that running around between kisses.

  2. Enjoy every moment !!! Being a Grandmother is one of the greatest joys on earth.
My Grandaughters are now 9 and 13, but I can still close my eyes and see there sweet baby faces and tiny toes and fingers.
Blessings to you and yours, Carol

  3. What a blessing you have been to your beautiful daughter! I remember my mother spending almost every day with us the first two weeks of my son's life. I was plagued with a headache (from the spinal) and I had a 14 month old daughter to care for, too. What a godsend my mother was! Your darling little one only makes your exquisite sewing more beautiful. I am so happy for you!

  4. I check every day to see if you have new pictures of Baby!! Want to see her in every outfit you made!!

People down here in Louisiana are talking about "that beautiful Emma dress" someone had at a school they went to!!!! Loved seeing it on Baby!

  5. She is so beautiful in her beautiful hand stitched dress! I cannot wait for ours to get here! Fri. is the day!!!!!

  6. Martha I am so glad you are having a great time with that beloved grandchild. I am happy for you. Just to warn you.. Bodie woke me at 7 this morning to tell me the sun was awake and he wanted blueberry muffins. Get ready. :)

  7. Well said, Martha. She is beautiful. Have fun. Can't wait for more pictures.

  8. Aren't you just sooooo thrilled? I remember going into our local heirloom sewing shop (now closed, boo hoo) and one of the other customers said that it was such a joy to see her daughter pregnant and then giving birth. And I felt exactly the same way when it was our turn.

I'm so happy for you and your lovely daughter and granddaughter.
