Goldwork

This is a Christmas ornament I made for a swap.

UFO's have a life after the dreaded UFO closet, drawer, box or whatever dungeon you send them to live out their lives. This was from a SAGA convention class several years ago. It was a gold work class taught by Joan Hinds. It has lived in darkness until now.

Not sure ornament making is my forte' but its not too bad. I enjoyed putting this snippet to use. I hope the recipient enjoys it as well.

  1. This is exquisite, Martha! Such teeny-tiny stitches & so perfectly placed...Oh my! I can't imagine.

Thank you for your kind words about my DH's health. We're just taking one day at a time & cherishing each one.

    fondly,

  5. Very elegant!

I have an unrelated question for you and discovered I don't know how to send a message through Delphi--I will try to check back here for your reply.

On Delphi a while ago I asked about prewashing heirloom fabrics and you helpfully told me you prewash everything. My follow-up question is: Do you wash them in cold and drip-dry--which is how I usually care for heirloom things (after they're sewn) or for that first time do you wash in warm and dry in the dryer on a gentle cycle, to get any shrinkage out of the way? Thanks so much. --Zina
