Invitations-Check!
A simple, or so I thought, task is complete. Except for assembling. I will wait until the bride is home to do that next weekend. Now onto the next. Guest book is ordered. I have to get into the sewing room this week and get started there asap.
I am a little bit devilishly excited, my physical therapist is on vacation this week. Is it bad that I can hardly contain my excitement? I am not even jealous about her laying on a beach somewhere. It means she is not here. That guy pictured above is a paid actor. How do I know that? There is no grinning going on when I am there! So I will take my week of vacation. Don't worry, I'll still do my home program, but there is no need for pain medications involved in what I do at home. And that is several hours this week I have gained back. You wouldn't think three appointments in a week would be a lot, but it seems to take up way more than you would expect. I need the extra time.
When you are in the midst of your daughter's wedding, you can't help but reflect on your own. How many of your 70's friends had this song at their wedding? I lost count. Count myself among those who had it at theirs. I still love it, 34+ years later.

Who knew that trying to get healthy could be so time consuming and so much WORK, eh?
ReplyDeleteMy first husband and I had The Wedding Song at our wedding, along with You've Only Just Begun, both of which drove my organist completely crazy. He was our piano teacher and felt we should stick with Real Music (the classics). We gave him Pomp and Circumstance, March #4 and Trumpet Voluntary for the processional and recessional. (A couple years later, Charles and Diana used the same pieces as recessional and processional, which tickled me no end.)
Oh, my, I've lost count too!
ReplyDeleteYup. Had that song at my wedding. That and the Lord's prayer. Still love them both.
ReplyDeleteI love that song. We got married in the 80s and didn't use that song, but I still love it. At our wedding, I sang while my wonderful hubby played acoustic guitar...the song...."My Romance".
ReplyDeleteWe used it. Had a dear friend sing it. That made it even more special. I still love it. We celebrated our 33rd anniversary two weeks ago!
ReplyDeleteWe didn't use it at our wedding, but I played it at several other 1970's weddings! Still have the sheet music in the piano bench after 36 1/2 years. It is still a great song.
ReplyDeleteAlso played 'The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face' for a 70's wedding. Not my choice, the bride's! :)
So glad you are getting rain. We don't have much, but that is normal for us. I have relatives in the midwest (farmers) and have been watching and hoping with baited breath for rain. Glad it is here and hope it is a soaker.
