A Sunday Thought

“Nothing is more practical than
finding God, than
falling in Love
in a quite absolute, final way.

What you are in love with,
what seizes your imagination, will affect everything.
It will decide
what will get you out of bed in the morning,
what you do with your evenings,
how you spend your weekends,
what you read, whom you know,
what breaks your heart,
and what amazes you with joy and gratitude.

Fall in Love, stay in love,
and it will decide everything.
Pedro Arrupe SJ (1907-91)

  2. Martha,

I love your blog. I check it every chance I get for the new posts. Since I work full time plus, I do not have much time to sew and I am not nearly as talented as you. I became a grandmother in November and I am desparately trying to complete a Christening gown. Thank goodness my granddaughter is small for her age. I have a question that I hope you can help me with. The instructions for the gown are vague so here goes. There are six panels to the gown and each panel has two scallops. There are three rows of lace at the bottom and then a row of wider gathered lace. The pattern had the first row of lace probably 5-6 inches from the bottom. I have shaped and attached the top of the first row without problems. In attaching the remaining rows, should I sew the bottom of the first row to the fabric and them attach the top of the second row to the bottom of the first and then cut the fabric away from behind the lace? This seems to be the most logical way but I am not positive. Thanks for your help. My e-mail is mharrison@cricpa.com
